Village of Tequesta Cabinet Meeting of January 12, 1994
Dear Mr. Ladd:
Thank you for your prompt approval of the Village Square Phase II
sign package. The attached drawing demonstrates compliance with
the Board's request for a larger planter with increased foliage.
Foliage types are precisely consistent with the Board's
recommendations for the Phase I sign. This should enable prompt
issuance of the sign permit.
The Village Square strategy for "landscaping" is clearly a separate
issue from the sign and must be treated as such. Village Square
has complied with Village/Board directions on each occasion e.g.
1. Plant�ng of queen pa�ms along U.S. 7.
2. Replanting of foliage per CAB direction for the Phase
I sign.
Future intentions are mitigated by DOT plans to modify left
turn/access ways along the stretch from south of Village Square to
the county line. Given the unknowns, it is not prudent to declare
or implement a landscaping plan.

Village Square has demonstrated its "good citizen" intentions.
With the up coming median changes restricting south bound access
to Village Square, we must be prudent when considering the
expensive suggestions of the CAB.

Tom, the CommunitY Appearance Board reviswed the above referenced
pro7ect on January 12, and February 2. 1994.
The followin_q concerns were exgressed by the �oard reqardinq this
proposed pro7ect:
1. The Board was concerned that no minimum sizes were
specified for the Robellini palms and the liriope.
2. The Board was concerned that there was no way to provide
irrigation to the proposed planters.
Motion to approve the proposed project as modified on the plans at
the meeting, said modifications being as follows:
1. Specify minimum 7 Qallon size for the two Robelline palms.
2. Specify .minimum 1 Qallon size and add four more liriope,
C everctresn Qiant> for a total of nine < 9> .
Vote vn the mot ion: 5-0 to approve.
Additional Board comments: NONE
BuildinQ Official Comments: Irrigation f or all sign planters will
be required when Village Squaze Shopping Center addresses the
requirements of Ordinance #377 p=ior to the amortization deadline of
3 -8-9 5 .
