Electronic communication system that offers residents the opportunity to receive news and information on a broad range of topics, including emergency alerts. Various activities are available for adults who wish to remain actively fit, who may wish to unleash their competitive side with a game of cards, or those who simply want an afternoon or morning of quiet relaxation. Tequesta boasts three vibrant and lushly landscaped parks all within 2 miles of Beach Road — Constitution Park, Paradise Park and Tequesta Park. Residents can stroll along the '/a mile walking path, stretch their legs at the exercise stations, or enjoy all that nature has to offer with the alluring butterfly garden. Fancy a round of tennis or a game of three on three basketball? It's available at Tequesta Park. Are the grand children in town and full of energy? Let them cut loose for an afternoon of fun and rowdy play on the playgrounds. Looking for a place to hold an HOA meeting? The Parks and Recreation Department has you covered. Or join us around the Village gazebo for Noon Tunes, and concerts and movies in the park. Finance The Village water utility offers full-service customer service: • Customer service staff will assist customers in person or over the phone with opening and closing accounts and understanding water bills • "Welcome to Tequesta" packets are provided to all new customers • Staff reviews unusual usage of water and investigates the differences prior to mailing monthly utility bill • Staff may contact customers to alert them of unusual usage often helping them identify leaks prior to costly bills • Utility personnel examine meters to ensure they operate properly The online services include: • Water customers can view their account online and monitor usage history • Customers can pay their utility bill via credit card • Water customers can set up an ACH payment whereby the bill amount is automatically withdrawn from their bank account each month • Customer service staff will help set up the online accounts, take payments in person; a night drop box is also available Fire The Fire Department offers many personalized services in an effort to promote public safety. These include: • Smoke Detector Inspection Program - Firefighters inspect and test residential smoke detectors; replace batteries; and make recommendations for placement of additional smoke detectors if needed. This service is free of charge. • Needle Disposal Program — provides a safe and environmentally sound method to dispose of used needles and syringes • Life Safety and medical tips - Our web site has many life safety tips and medical information on it. The Viiiage's Fire Suppression Rating is one of the highest around, which transfates into iower insurance premiums. Police The Village offers a full service police department consisting of road patrol, marine patrol, code enforcement and a full-time detective. A few of the special services offered include: • Responds to all calls for service; and security alarm activations • Maintains a computer record of residents with disabilities in the event of an emergency • Provides crime prevention presentations to HOA's and neighborhood gatherings • Offers a voluntary and secured maintenance of resident house keys in the event of an emergency or lost key • Offers a Citizens Observer Patrol program to provide volunteer supplemental support to department • Offers a Civilian Marine Patrol program Village Clerk / Webmaster / Admin PIO The Clerk's Office is the hub for public information and communication. This office maintains the imaging system, website, media communication outlets such as Facebook and the resident email distribution system. • Over 109,000 pages have been imaged into the document center, thereby making it easier for residents to access important documents such the agenda, agenda backup, minutes, ordinances, resolutions and agreements • Access to the agenda, agenda backup, audio files from each meeting is available in the document center • Conducts the municipal elections.
