Lori,
I have also noticed dark areas along the walkway as described by Councl Member Okun. I suggest that we add this to
the May 6` workshop agenda for Council consideration. We can then direct the Manager in concert with the wishes of
a Council majority.
Thank you,

Subj.t: Street Lights on Tequesta Drive
Street Light Request
I've been approached by numerous residents who walk and run on the sideevalk concoarse on the sonth-
side of Tequesta Drive, from the west-side of the bridge to the Country Club who have been saking
street6ghts to safeguard their pedestrian sidewalks after dark and before sunrise. The topic also cme up
at a homeowners meeting at Bayview Terrace and a few people claimed they were told by people at the
Village that streetlights were coming after the bridge constructioa was completed.
Given that the sidewalk concourse is set back significantly from the roadway nd often behind trees and
shvbs, many feel that safety is an issue; they do not feel secure in that rea vhen it is dark.
Consequently, I am voicing their consolidated concerns by making a forml request for streetlights to be
installed to illuminate that area as a pedestrian safeguard as well as an enhancement for residents vvho
walk their pets at all hours of the night in that area. After checking with Police Chief Elg and Manager
Couzzo, there is concurrence that lighting would be a definite enhancement and should calm safety
concerns for pedestrian personal security issues.
Accordingly, I would ask that consideration be given to ezpedite the process required to ultimately have
ample streetlight illumination provided in that corridor. The sidewalks are non-traditional blacktop that
further hinder light reflection that would nonally provide an dvantage to a dim walkway.
The residents who commented were from Tequesta Country Club, Bayview Terrace and Shady Lane.
The addition of streetlights seems to make good sense, especially since early morning pedestrians are
often children walking to a bus stop at Tequest Drive & Country Club Drive.
Please prioritize this reques Thank You.
