Whereas, the Village Council desires to maintain additional police personnel presence within the Village of Tequesta, Whereas, the Village Council desires continued deployment of in-car computers in patrol vehicles, Whereas, in-car computers will continue to allow officers to perform daily communications, complete police reports, and check criminal records while remaining on patrol, Whereas, the Village of Tequesta Police Department requests to purchase seventeen (17) Dell Latitude e6430 ATG laptop computers from Dell Government Sales Florida Contract#WNOSACA, attached as Exhibit"A," Whereas, the purchase of seventeen Dell Latitude e6430 ATG laptops for $40,865 will be fully reimbursed by Palm Beach County via 1250 funding. Whereas, the seventeen Dell Latitude e6430 ATG laptops will be the property of Palm Beach County following the reimbursement of$40,865. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approve the purchase of the seventeen (17) Dell Latitude e6430 ATG laptop computers from Dell Government Sales attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference as a part of this Resolution is hereby approved and the Village Manager of the Village of Tequesta is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Village of Tequesta. Couzzo, Jr. Village Manager From: Brad Gomberg Date: 5/1/2013 Re: Police Laptop Replacement-1250 Funding Message: The existing compliment of police laptops is over 6 years old and in varying degrees of functionality. Over 60% of the existing units have some form of damage or dysfunction beyond standard wear and tear. It has become very difficult to maintain consistent operation of these units for our officers. For these reasons I had recommended the lease or purchase of new units for the 2013/14 budget year and recommended a Dell unit following significant amounts of research. After proposing this budget item, I was informed on the week ending Friday 4/26/2013, that the Police Department had found a funding source we could utilize that would fully reimburse the Village via 1250 monies provided by the county. I was informed that the Police Department currently has $40,939.38 available for this purpose. I immediately contacted our Dell representative for a revised estimate at their best price. I was able to secure "end of quarter" pricing from Dell which essentially provides for one additional laptop within our funding amount. To take advantage of the 1250 funding source we must have a fully recorded transaction no later than June 30` 2013. In order to provide for the time required to fulfill the order process, we must rush the applicable agenda items for the May council meeting. Upon council approval, we can process the order and proceed via the proper channels for 1250 reimbursement.
