HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_272_08/28/1979u . • ORDINANCE NO. 2'72 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12 OF TI3E VILLAGE RELATING TO PUBLIC SERVICE TAX, TO A TAX OF 8% OTQ THE SALE OF ELECTRICITY, METERED AND BOTTLED GAS, WATER SERVICE AND LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section l: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 12 be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows; "Section 1. There is hereby levied by the Village of Tequesta on each and every sale, in the Village of Tequesta, of electricity, metered or bottled gas (natural or manufactured), water service and local telephone service, a tax of eight (8) percent of the charge made by the seller thereof, which tax shall, in every case, be paid by the purchaser, for the use of the Village of Tequesta, to the seller of such electricity, gas, water or telephone service at the time of paying the charge therefor, to the seller thereof, but not less often than monthly." Section 2: Each and every other section of Ordinance No. 12 as originally passed and amended shall remain intact. Section 3: That this Ordinance, upon its effective date, shall be codified into the Village of Tequesta Code of Ordinances. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall take effect on September 1, 1979. The foregoing Ordinance was offered by Council Member V1. Harvey Mapes who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Council Member James H. Ryan and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION Howard F. Brown Leslie A.
