I i ~, ORDINANCE NG . 1: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, ADOPTING PORTIONS OF THE PLUMB- ING CODE FOR PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, OF OCTOBER 29, 1968 AS THE PLUMBING CODE FOR THE VILLAGE; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCE- MENT THEREOF AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Section 1: The Village of Tequesta hereby incorporates and adopts as the Plumbing Code of the Village, Chapters V to XVII inclusive of the Plumbing Code of Palm Beach County, Florida, as adopted on October 29, 1968, a copy of same being attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein, with the following amendments: (a) Section 504.1 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sewer services having an earth cover of less than 2 feet shall be of cast iron Schedule 40 or PVC Schedule 40 or Schedule 80. Sewers having an earth cover of 2 feet or greater, may be of vitrified clay, cast iron, Schedule 40 or PVC Schedule 40 or Schedule 80. If vitrified clay pipe is used, joints may be made with an approved hot poured bituminous compound or shall have polyvinyl chloride pre-formed joints. Each sewer service shall have a clean- out brought to grade within 5 feet outside the building. An additional cleanout, brought to ~rade, shall be pro- vided at each change or direction t at a cleanout tool can negotiate. At any event, there shall be a cleanout brought to grade at least every 50 feet.'1 (b) Section 504.4 is hereby amended to read as follows, (with regard to the first sentence thereof); "All soil waste and vent pipes shall be of cast iron, lead, brass, copper, or PVC, all PVC to be Schedule 40 or Schedule 80." (c) Section 504.4-10 is hereby- amended to read as follows: 11PVC Pipe Schedule 40 or any other pipe, per Section 504.4, shall be used in any height building as long as it is supported vertically at each floor.10 (d) Section 603.7 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Cast iron to PVC joints shall be made with rubber adaptor rings, or by caulking with lead and oakum. Cast iron joints may be lead, oakum or neoprene gasket. No hub joints may be used above the floor with neoprene sleeve provided all metal parts are stainless steel.t0 . ~~ ~ ~ (e) Section 907.95 is hereby amended to add the follow- ing sentence at the conclusion thereof, to wit; "A cast iron floor flange may be used with a cast iron pipe." (f) Section 1206.1 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Add the following to the Southern Standard Plumbing Code: The water supply pipes of a building shall be of galvanized iron, wrought iron, galvanized steel, brass pipe, an approved type copper tubing, type "L" or "K", and fittings, or Polyvinyl Chloride Pastic Pipe (PVC) for underground water service when complying with Commercial Standards CS-255-63 and CS-256-63 respectively and further bearing the seal of approval of the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and must be schedule 40 minimum. 1. PVC Pipe must be buried to a minimum depth of twenty-four inches (24") and shall not be places in or under a building or structure. 2. Type "M" copper pipe may be used above floor, not under." (g) Section 1214.1 is hereby amended to read as follows: "The minimum size pressure relief line for a domestic water heater shall be 3/8" O.D. (1/4" I.D.)." Section 2: The requirement for permits, inspections, procedures for enforcement, and penalties for violation shall be and remain as heretofore ordained by the Village Council. Section 3: Except as hereinabove stipulated, all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith shall be, and the same are hereby, revoked. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval as provided by law. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON SECOND READING, this -?~~~ day of A.
