RE: Consideration of Appointment of Wazd Bertholf to the Position of "Alternate Member" on
the Board of Adjustment
Ward L. Berthol� 473 Dover Road, has indicated to the Department of Community Developme� he
would like to serve on the Board of Adjustment as Alternate Member (see attached application). The

In acxordance with Florida Statutes Section 7S 1.80, the requested membership af Ward L. Bertholf on
the Board of Adjustment keeps its membership representative of the V'illage of Tequesta's overall
population as described. in the 2000 Census.
It is recommended that the Village Council consider the appointment of Wazd L. Bertholf to the Board
of Adjustment effective May 14, 2004, with said three year term expiring May 14, 2003. Presenfly,
there are no other applications pending for the Board of Adjustment.

The BOA reviews applications for a variance to the Tequesta Zoning Code for all residenrial pro �es�The�B�K `s11i o�ve
regulaz members appointed by the Village Council who shall serve without compensation and for a term of three years. In addition to
the regulaz BOA members, two additional members, to be designated as Alternate No. 1 and Altemate No. 2, shall be appointed to serve
in that order at mcetings of the BOA when necessary for any reason and to have at all times three votang members on said BOA as a
quorum. Altemate members shall be appointed for iwo year terms. Members of the BOA may be removed from office by the Village
Council upon written charges and after public hearing.
