The proposal was to fund all construction costs for this project through charitable donations. Initial funding was acquired through a dedication banquet reveling the grand opening of the Public Safety Facility, and two subsequent fund raising golf tournaments. In future discussions on the matter, the Village Manager indicated that perhaps the fund would be better utilized by expanding the concept to a Village of Tequesta Memorial. These discussions were presented to me at which time I agreed to form an ad-hoc committee to further pursue the feasibility of this concept. The proposed memorial will be centrally located between the existing Public Safety Facility and the site of the new Village Hall. The committee will consist of myself, Assistant Manager Bob Garlo, and former mayors Cazlton Stoddard, Carl Hansen and Liz Schauer. The committee will review and evalua.te the feasibility, design and management of a"Village of Tequesta Memorial". Committee results will ultimately be presented to the Village Council for direction.
