4. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF MAJOR ISSUES: (This is a snap shot description of the agenda item)
Existing A/C systems are insufficient to cool the rooms and both doors must be propped open with industrial
fans blowing air out of the rooms. This is a violation of FDLE regulations and creates an undesirable
environment for our equipment.

A RESOLUTION OF THE VII.LAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE
FISCAL YEAR 2013/2014 GENERAL FUND #001 BUDGET BY
APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,200 FOR
THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IN
THE PUBLIC SAFETY SERVER AND 911 ROOMS AND AUTHORIZING
THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE
VII.LAGE PROVTDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
Whereas, the project will consist of the removal of the deficient existing cooling
systems in both rooms, replacement of the louvered door in the primary server room,
relocation of certain fire sprinkler branch lines, and installation of new properly sized
air conditioning system and duct work with 2 zone damper system
Whereas, the total cost of the project was estimated at $12,200
Whereas, the replacement project was not budgeted in the fiscal year 2013/2014
Whereas, funding in the amount of $12,200 needs to be appropriated in building
. ma.intenance accounts #001-175-546.303 and #001-192-546.303
NOW, TI�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TI� VILLAGE
OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Resolution # 43-13 is hereby approved, increasing the fiscal year
2013/2014 general fixnd #001 budget by appropriating fund balance in the amount of
$12,200 for the installation of a new air conditioning system in the public safety server
and 911 rooms and authorizing the village manager to execute on behalf of the village
providing an effective date; and for other purposes.
Section 2. This Resolution sha11 become effective immediately upon passage.

Re: Public Safety Server Room Cooling
Mr. Couzzo,
As we have discussed on several occasions, the cooling equipment in the public safety server
room and 911 equipment closet is significantly inadequate. This presents an unacceptable
environmental condition for over $500,000 in technology running in those spaces, and could
likely cause catastrophic failure of those devices. Temperature in the 911 closet reaches close to
90 F. and temperature in the primary server room exceeds 100° F. Several inexpensive
solutions have been attempted but ultimately all have failed. As such, I have placed high speed
industrial fans running 24/7 in the server room and have had to prop both rooms doors open
which violates FDLE security and accreditation standards. My recommendation is to proceed
immediately with remediation of these spaces. This process would consist of removal of the
deficient existing cooling systems in both rooms, replacement of the louvered door in the
primary server room, relocation of certain fire sprinkler branch lines, and installation of new
properly sized air conditioning system (3 ton) and duct work with 2 zone damper system. I have
obtained quotations for services to complete this project which are attached to this packet. My
vendor recommendation is below:

Air conditioner removal and installation — Wagner's Refrigeration ($10,200)
Door Replacement — ($900)

factory-mounted condensate pump, electric steam canister humidifier, electric reheat,
copper tube-aluminum fin DX cooling and condenser coi/s, 2" pleated filter.
➢ Install new remote condensing unit on roof with crane and modify existing stee! stand as
necessary to accept new condenser.
➢ Connect to existing 230v/�ph electrical service on roof.
➢ lnstall new AHU in ceiling space above EOC.
➢ Run new copper lines ta units.
➢ Connect condensate drain line to existing plumbing vent line.
➢ Connect to existing 230�/9ph electrical service in main data room.
➢ Fahricate and install plenums for supply air and retum air and run flex duct to supply
diffusers and retum grilles in both data rooms.
➢ Provide and install manual balancing dampers in each trunkline.
➢ Leak check and pull appropriate vacuum.
➢ Start unit and charge to manufacturer's guidelines.
➢ Balance airtlow to both data rooms.
• This proposal is based on work being pertormed during regular working hours of 8am-
5pm.
• All work to be coordinated with Village of Tequesta to minimize impact in occupied areas.
