The council is alrea.dy familiar with Renewal Coalition, an organization that provides combat wounded nulitary personnel and their families the opporh�nity to step away from their military hospita.l and rehabilita.tion centers and come to Florida for a fully paid retreat. Another charity which will benefit from the event is C.AM.O, an organization that works in conjunction with Renewal Coalition by rescuing dogs from local shelters and train.i.ng them to be service companions for combat wounded servicemen with physical and neurological impairments as well as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Good Shepherd School is Tequesta's only elementary school and in addition to providing support for this event, will also use some of the proceeds to establish a Patriot Scholarship for local military families. FAMTT.TF� HELpING HEROES will be held on Saturday, February 22 from 2-8 at Paradise Park. It will feature over 20 food trucks, live music from our most popular local bands, the Panther Zone (featuring fun, military themed kid activities) as well dog and military demonstrations. Sikorsky and the branches of the military have already committed their support and involvement with the event. The layout will be sirnilar to the successful Tequesta. Fest: the parking lot will be used for the food trucks, the field closest to Old Dixie will be designated for the bands and the sponsor VIP tents. The field closest to CVS will be the Panther Zone. It will be dedicated to military themed kid's activities. Military vehicles will line Main Street and CAMO will be bri.nging in recipients and their dogs to give demonstrations of their amazing trai.ning. Parking will be provide through local parking lots and a shuttle. Revenue will be generated though ticket sales, beer, water and soda. sales and sponsorships.
