Property Owner
RE: Abandonment of Country Club Drive Riqht-of-Way
Dear Resident:
As a property owner abutting the Country Club Drive right-of-way,
you have no doubt seen the increase in traffic on this roadway over
the years. A recent traffic study completed by Tequesta indicates
that 51$ of the current traffic comes from Martin County and
projects it to be 62 in the future. Therefore, the majority of
this traffic comes from areas external to Tequesta, areas over
which we have no development control. In order to address this
concern, the Village has developed a preliminary concept to address
this problem. The purpose of this correspondence is to advise you
of the same.
Commencing at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 9, 1993, Tequesta will
hold a Public Information Meeting at its Village Hall located at ,
357 Tequesta Drive to fully review the strategy of the Village and
to answer any questions that you may have in this regard.
Briefly, Tequesta proposes to reduce.the right-of-way of Country
Club Drive so that four-laning of the road becomes unfeasible. By
doing this in conjunction with officially reducing the adopted
level of service for the road, it is our hope to limit the number
of vehicular trips on the road .and, in the future, preclude
developers from widening the road, even if proposed to be done at
their expense.
Abandonment of public right-of-way will grant unto you ownership of
additional property abutting Country Club Drive. A copy of our
analysis of the proposed property for abandonment is attached for
your review.
As stated, a full discussion of this strategy will take place on
November 9, 1993. Please make arrangements to attend this meeting
should you have any questions or concerns relative to the same. We
look forward to meetinq with you and hearing from you at that time.
