CAI.L TO ORDER APD t�I.L CALL The Tequesta Community Appearance Board held a regulerly scheduled meeting at the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, on Wednesday, July 6, 1994. The meeting was called to order by Chairwomaa Leslie Cook at 9:3Z B.M. Connaunity Appearance Board members present were: Leslie Cook, Ruth Maitland, Claudette Dalack, Vic Strahan, and 9cott D. � .Ladd, Clerk of the Boasd. II. APPROVAL OF A�DA The Agenda was approved as submitted. III. APPROVAL OF PR8VI008 1KIND'1'SS There were no minutes. iV. NEW BtTSINLSB 1) An application from Ferrin Sigas for alterations to the euistinq free-standing siqn at Teqnesta Plaza, 190-222 Tequesta Drive, to briag it into ca�pliance Nith the Villaqe Siga Code. The representative from Ferrin Signe was not present at this time. Mr. Ladd left the meetinq to check on this. . V. O�'INIS�D BUSIHS88 . • Chairwoman Ccok checked with Gary Preston about the $2,500 outside landscapiaq consultant fee at the railroad crossinq, and he did not kaow anything about �t. Chairwo�an Cook expressed her apinion that ehe does aot thi�k it's �orth planting anythinq on the west eide of the railroad"tracks, or perhaps j�st uBe a� ground cover. A discussion of various types of ground covers ensued. Mr. Ladd returned at thiB point and announced that no one from- Ferrin Signs would be attending the meeting because they forgot, and also they are makinq more changes i.ncludi.nq the color scheme, and will be preparinq all new drawinqe. Mr. Ladd said Ferrin may plant asparagus fern in the plan�er at the base of the sign, however, there�will be no irrigation installed at this time, and he reminded the Board that in less than a year from now, Felhaber will have to addrees the new landscape code. More diecusgion took place about colore for the sfgn , removinq the liqhthouees from the tops of the poles, and using the same indian aa the Villaqe. Vice Chairmau Strahan suggested tbat Mr. Ladd call Ferrin and tell them that until the overall color scheme of the Plaza i8 presented, the Soard would like the poles to be beiqe, or some other neutral color, and that the asparagus fern is okay for the planter. Chairwoman Cook suqqested that on the west side of the�. railroad, it just be grass aad use the money saved to put ia .more plants oa the east side of the tracks. Boardmember . Dalack sugqested just doing the easst side first and should it catch the eye, perhaps nothiaq need be done to the �est side. Not all members we=e ia agreement with th.is suggestion. Some discussion took place regardinq the cost of the plants and whether the Village Clerk caa give the Board an estimate from George Gentile & Assoc. It was decided that at the next CAB Meeting, they would like Joann Manqaniello to discuss this further. Chairwoman Cook brought up a point about �'ixst Baptist Church, thet by them removing their pine trees along the back of the church, the air conditioners reallp staad out and she is hoping they will plant something eventuallp to cover this. Chairwoman Cook informed the Board that she had begun writing a letter to the Village Council requestinq Steve Parker be given special recoqnition for his work, and will finish it and forward san►e.
