MEETING MINUTES
FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2013
Call to Order and Roll Call
The �Ilage of Tequesta Historic Preservation Committee held a regularly scheduled
meeting at the Tequesta �Ilage Hall, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, on Friday,
January 25, 2013. The meeting was called to order at 10:07 a.m. by Chair Bethany
Humpage. Present were Bethany Humpage, Dottie Campbell, Lee Resnik, and Bob
Jacks. Also present were �Ilage Clerk Lori McWilliams and Recording Secretary Betty
Laur. Member Pauline Hutchinson was absent from the meeting. •
Approval of Agenda
MOTION: Board Member Jacks made a motion to approve the agenda as
submitted. Board Member Resnik seconded the moiaon, which carried
unanimously 4-0.
1. Approval of minutes of July 3, 2012 meeting
MOTION: Board Merr�ber Jacks made a mo�on to approve tl�e minutes of the July
3, 2012 meeting as submitted. Board Member Resnik seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously 4-0.
2. Discuss staf�ing a historic memorabilia booth at �e 2013 Tequesta Fest
Village Clerk Mc�lliams presented her idea for the Committee to have a booth at the
2013 Tequesta Fest in November to promote the history of the Village. The Committee
will be contacted with the date of Tequesta Fest. Board Member Campbell suggested a
sand sculpture of the Tequesta Indian to attract attention, a classy brochure, and candy
to give away. Chair Humpage wi11 lead the project, and Board Member Campbell will
contact a sand sculpture company. �Ilage Clerk McWilliams noted the Committee had
$2,000 to spend this year for purchases before September 30. She suggested
purchasing candy, brochures, and other items before September 30 and paying for the
sand sculpture from next year's $2,000 which will be available October 1. Recording
Secretary Laur will set up a document to keep track of historic items removed from a
collection for display, so that items can be retumed to that collection.
Consensus of the Committee: To delay scheduling the next meeting until after
the election in March.

Committee Member Jacks donated two photas of the old Chamber of Commert�. Clerk
Mc�lliams suggested placing the photos on the �Ilage website to ask for help
identifiyying the people pictured. �
Board Member Campbell distributed copies of a January, 1958 telephone directory,
which listed people who were here in 1957. She plans to highlight those she knows
were Tequesta residents.
Board Member Campbell also distributed copies of an article regarding the history of
Jupiter Island.
Adiournment The meeting was adjoumed at 10:52 a.m.
