A{lison, Chief of Rolice�o- Subject: Agenda Item — Law Enforcement Trust Fund Expenditure Date: Deeember 20, 2000 � Pursuant to the provisions of FSS 932J�55 (4)(b), I am requesting Councii � permission to spend up to $4,500.00 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. This money will be used to pay for the printing and production of the police department year 2000 annua{ report. (The tatal purchase price is based on the neamber of copies ordered, but will not exceed the requested amount.} The Law Enforcement Trust Fund has a current unencumbered balance of $11,720.00. The annual report booklets will be an integral part of o.ur public information and crime prevention programs. This usage meets the requirements of FSS 932.7055 (4)(a}. � ` � � RESOLUTION NO. 12 - 00/Ol A RESOLUTION OF TEiE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING A PROPOSAL FROM A& T PRINTING, INC., OF PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA, FOR THE PRODUCTION AND PRINTING OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT YEAR 2000 ANNUAL REPORT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,500.00, [�TITH FUNDS BEING APPROPRIATED FROM THE SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, HAVING A FY 2000/2001 BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $11,720.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUN'TY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section l. The proposal for the production and printing of the police department year 2000 annual report from A& T Printing, Inc., of Port St. Lucie, Florida, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and inCOrporated by reference as part of the resolution, is hereby approved. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED BY Councilmember , who moved its adoption. Page 1 OASIS 1 (4)(a) If the seizing agency is a county or municipal agency, the . remaining proceeds shall be deposited in a special law enforcement trust fund established by the board of county commissioners or the governing body of the municipality. Such proceeds and interest earned therefrom sha11 be used for school resource offieer, crime prevention, safe neighborhooct, clrug abuse education and prevention programs, or for other law enforcement purposes, which include defraying the cost of protracted or complex investigarions, providing additional equipment or expertise and providing matching funds to obtain fecleral grants. The proceeds and interest may not be used to meet normal operating expenses of the law enforcement agency. (b) These funds may be expendecl upon request by the sheriff to the board of county commissioners or by the chief of police to the governing body of the municipali#y, accompanied by a written certification that the request complies with the provisions of this subsection, and only upon appropriarion to the sheriff's office or police department by the board of county commissioners or the governing body of the municipality.
