HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Local Planning Agency_03/20/2014 Planning 8� Zoning Advisory Board Sitting as the Local Planning Agency MEETING MINUTES March 20, 2014 CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The Village of Tequesta Planning & Zoning Advisory Board sitting as the Local Planning Agency held a regularly scheduled meeting at the Tequesta Village Hall, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, on Thursday, March 20, 2014. The meeting was called to order at 5:49 p.m. A roll call was taken by Planning and Zoning Director Nilsa Zacarias, who noted the following were present: Vice Chair Michael Schmidt, Board Member Elizabeth Schauer, Board Member Steve Eagen, Board Member Janet Strand, Alternate Sebastian Loaiza, and Alternate Ashley Warren. Village Attorney Keith Davis was also present. APPROVALOFAGENDA MOTION Board Member Schauer moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Board Member Eagen seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote. 1. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: February 20, 2014 MOTION Board Member Strand moved to approve the minutes of the February 20, 2014 meeting as submitted. Board Member Loaiza seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote. 2. ORDINANCE NO. 7-14: An Ordinance of the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, amending Chapter 14, Buildings and Building Regulations, Article II, Buildings, by creating an entirely new Section 14-34, Technical Amendments to the Florida Building Code Residential Adopted to adopt local technical amendments to the FBC, Residential, that provide new freeboard requirements more stringent than the Building Code Minimum Requirements; and Chapter 78 Zoning Article XII, Flood Damage Prevention, Sec. 78-802, by changing the default depth to 3 feet above grade, effectively providing an added +1 ft. of freeboard protection, even in approximate Zone A; providing that each and every other section and sub-section of Chapters 14 and 78, shall remain in full force and effect as previously adopted; providing a conflicts clause, a severability clause and authority to codify; providing an effective date; and for other purposes. Attorney Davis described the proposed changes. MOTION Board Member Eagen moved to recommend approval to Village Council of Ordinance No. 7-14 as submitted. Board Member Schauer seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote.
