' MEETING MINUTES
July 17, 2014
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The Village of Tequesta Planning & Zoning Advisory Board sitting as the Local Planning
Agency held a regularly scheduled meeting at the Tequesta Village Hall, 345 Tequesta
Drive, Tequesta, Florida, on Thursday, July 17, 2014. The meeting was called to order
at 5:35 p.m. A roll call was taken by Joanne Burnsed, who noted the following were
present: Chair Janet Strand, Board Member Elizabeth Schauer, Board Member James
Hackett, and Board Member Steve Eagen. Also present was Village Attorney Keith
Davis and Community Development Director Nilsa Zacarias.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION
Board Member Schauer moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Board Member
Hackett seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 4-0 vote.
1. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: March 20, 2014
MOTION
Board Member Eagen moved to approve the minutes of the March 20, 2014 meeting as
submitted. Board Member Hackett seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous
4-0 vote.
2. ORDINANCE NO. 13-14: An Ordinance of the Village Council of the Village of
Tequesta, Florida, amending Chapter 78. Zoning at Article I, In General. by updating
and revising the list of definitions for terms contained in the Village's zoning ordinance;
providing that each and every other section and sub-section of Chapter 78, Zoning;
shall remain,in full force and effect as previously a�iop#ed; providing�a.conflicts clause,_a
severability clause and authority to codify; providing an , effective date;: and for other
purposes: - • ., . . < _
Attorney Davis described the proposed changes; -and answered questions from the
Board. He explained how outdoor restaurant seating would be increased in some
cases.
MOTION
Board Member Schauer moved to recommend approval to Vi/lage Council of Ordinance
No. 13-14 as submitted. Board Member Eagen seconded the motion, which carried by
' unanimous 4-0 vote.

3. ORDINANCE NO. 14-14: An Ordinance of the Village Council of the Village of
Tequesta, Florida, amending Chapter 78 Zoning at Article VI, Schedule of district
regulations. Division 2. Schedule of Use Regulations. By providing for internal
consistency, updating certain terminology consistent with state law, requiring the use of
emergency backup generators for certain gasoline service stations and convenience
stores, providing for adult entertainment as a special exception use in the C-3 zoning
district, and increasing the square footage size for certain permitted uses in commercial
and mixed use zones; providing that each and every other section and sub-section of
Chapter 78, Zoning shall remain in full force and effect as previously adopted; providing
a conflicts clause, a severability clause and authority to codify; providing an effective
date; and for other purposes.
Attorney Davis described the proposed changes.
MOTION
Board Member Schauer moved to recommend approval to Village Council of Ordinance
No. 14-�4 as submitted. Board Member Eagen seconded the motion, which carried by
unanimous 4-0 vote.

There were no public comments:

There were no comments from the Board.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion by Board
Member Schauer, seconded by Board Member Hackett and carried by unanimous 4-0
vote, the meeting was adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
