OF THE VII..LAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR THE GENERAL NIUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2015, AND IF NECESSARY, THE MUNICIPAL RUN-OFF ELECTION TO BE HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2015, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING COUNCIL SEATS 2 AND 4 FOR TWO YEAR TERMS; REQUESTING THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS CONDUCT THE ELECTION; DESIGNATING POLLING LOCATIONS; NAMING THE CANVASSING BOARD; ESTABLISHING ELECTION PROCEDURES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Village has adopted the Uniform Filing and election dates as authorized by the Legislature of the State of Florida, House Bill 742, designating the second Tuesday in March as the unifarm election date for municipal office; aaid designati.ng a filing period for such office from Noon on the last Tuesday in Januazy through and not later than Noon on the second Tuesda.y in February of the calendar yea.r; and WI�REAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that Council Members shall be elected. at lazge to Seats 2 and 4 in the odd years; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta requests the Pa1m Beach County Supervisor of Elections conduct the municipal election; and WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 5 of the Village Code of Ordinances provides that the Village Clerk, or designee, along with the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, or designee, and one Council Member (which can include the Mayor) whose position is either not scheduled to be voted upan or who is unopposed at the ele�tion being canvassed, sha31 be appointed to serve as the Canvassing Board.; and WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article V of the Village Code of Ordinances further provides that the Village Clerk may appoint or hire as many inspectors of election, and other election workers as deemed necessary to conduct elections in the Village; and VVHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta desires to designate polling locations, and establish election procedures for the General Municipal Election on March 10, 2015; and if necessary a Municipal Run-off Election on March 24, 2015. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCII. OF TFIE VII.,LAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notice is hereby given tha.t a General Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015; and if necessary, a Municipal Run-off will be held on Tuesday, Mazch 24, 2015. The polling locations will be: Precinct 1078, Precinct 1088, and Precinct 1094 Tequesta Recreation Center, 399 Seabrook Road Precinct 1112,1116,1118, and 1120 Village Hall Chambers, 345 Tequesta Drive The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Section 2. In accordance with the provisions of Section 3.Q4 of the Village Charter, the Village Clerk sha11 be the Clerk of Electioas and. shall supervise the conduct of the General Municipal Election and Run off Election in accordance with the State of Florida Election Laws and the Village of Tequesta. Code of Ordinances. Section 3. The Pa1m Beach County Supervisor of Elections is hereby requested to conduct the election as set forth in the Vote Processing Equipmeat Use and Election Services Agreement, effective January 1, 2015. Section 3. The Village Clerk sha11 authorize payment of the Inspectors of Election per the rates in effect by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections for poll workers, inspectors, clerks, precinct advisors, and deputies. Section 4. Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article V of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village Clerk, or designee, along with the PaUn Beach County Supervisor of Elections, or designee, and one Council Member (which can include the Mayor) whose position is either not scheduled to be voted upon or who is unopposed at the election being canvassed, shall be appointed to and constitute the Vill�ge of Tequesta's Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting the General Municipal Election and, if necessary, the Runoff Election. Section 5. The provisions of the Florida Elections Code relating to absentee ballots shall apply to the General Municipal Election and, if necessary, the Run off Election, allowing the Pa1m Beach County Supervisor of Elections to canvass the absentee ballots, and attend the Logic aad Accuracy Test, for the Village of Tequesta. Section 6. The Pa1m Beach County Supervisor of Elections is hereby designated to tabulate the ballots cast at the General Municipal Election March 10, 2015, and, if necessary, the Run-off Election March 24, 2015. Section 7. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to post this Resolution in the Village Administrative Offices immediately af�er passage, and provide a certified copy to the Palm Bea.ch County Supervisor of Elections. 2
