ORDINANCE NO. 111
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,
DECLARING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO SOLICIT
WITHIN THE VILLAGE DONATIONS OR GIFTS FOR ANY
PURPOSE WITHOUT OBTAINING PERMIT; PROVIDING FOR
PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION AND ACQUISITION OF
PERMIT; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
OF THE PROVISION HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM
BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit, or
by and with the consent and approval, authorize or encourage any person
to solicit, within the Village of Tequesta, donations or gifts for any
purpose, without first obtaining a permit as hereinafter provided.
Section 2. A. Any person desiring to solicit, directly or
indirectly, within the Village, donations or gifts, shall first submit
to the Chief or Police of the Village, a sworn statement showing the
following:
(1) The name of the organization or society sponsoring
such campaign for such gifts, solicitations or
donations.
(2) For what purpose such gift or funds shall be used.
(3) The amount of commission, if any, that shall be
paid by such organization or society to the persons
soliciting such funds or gifts.
(4) The length of time over which such solicitations
shall extend.
(5) The names of all persons who shall be engaged in
such solicitations.
Section 3. The Chief oi: Police may, in his discretion, with-
hold action on the application pending the investigation of the person
seeking such permit.
Section 4. The Chief of Police, after the filing of the applica-
tion and the compliance with Section 3 hereof, if required, shall, by and
with the consent of the Village Clerk or Village Mayor, either grant or
reject such application. At his determination, he may submit the applica-
tion to the Village Council for its approval.

Section 5. Any person convicted of violation of thZs
ordinance shall be punished as provided in Section 10 of Ordinance No. 1.
Section 6. All ordinances and sections thereof in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 7. This 0-rdinance shall tal~.e effect immediately
upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
