I am writing this letter to urge the Village of Tequesta's participation in Palm
Beach County Housing and Community Development's (HCD) Urban County
� Program. Accordingly, I am requesting that you schedule this item for
consideration at your next Commission meeting. An HCD staff inember will be
available to attend to make a presentation and answer any questions.

Commissioners Your participation in our Urban County Program will add the Village of
Warren H. Newell, Chairman Te�uesta's population to those of other participating municipalities and unincorpo-
rated Palm Beach County, which the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

undertake essential community development and housing assistance activities in
specific municipalities and the unincorporated areas. The Village's continued
participation will allow it or its residents the opportunity to apply for funding for
activities such as:

• emergency repairs to housing
• mortgage subsidies for first-time homebuyers
• capital improvement projects
• economic development initiatives
To participate in the Urban County Program, the Village must notify HCD and
HUD in writing of the Village's official decision to do so and must execute an
Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Palm Beach County. Your participation

a ,� Enclosed are four (4) Interlocal Cooperation Agreements for approval and
. . execution by your governing officials. HCD must also have evidence that the
� Village Commission has authorized the Agreement. This must be either a
L �RI�� certified Resolution or a certified copy of the Minutes from the meeting at which
the Agreement was approved. Either document must be an original with the
actual signatures and a raised seal. HCD must receive the documentation no later
than Fridav, June 28, 2002 in order to be approved by the Palm Beach County
Board of Countv Commissioners and to meet HUD's deadline.
