This is a permitted use, with a Special Exception use approval required from the Village Council. Sec. 78-177 (d) (6) in the C-2 Zoning District allows for: Indoor Amusements (bowling, pool, billiards, video game arcade and similar amusements). This Special Exception Use should not be confused with Adult Arcade Amusement Centers which is also a Special Exception Use in the C-2 Zoning District. ORDER APPROVING APPLICATION This cause came on to be heard upon the above application and the Tequesta Village Council having considered the evidence presented. by the applicants and other interested persons at a hearing called and properly noticed, and the Tequesta Village Council, being otherwise duly advised, THEREUPON, THE TEQUESTA VILLAGE COUNCIL FINDS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The subject property is located in the C-2 Zoning District in the Village of Tequesta. 2. The applicant has submitted all documents required by the Village's Code of Ordinances. 3. The application and all supporting documentation and presentation materials as reviewed by the Village Council at its May 8, 2008 meeting, and as kept on file by the Village, are made a part hereof and are hereby incorporated by reference. 4. According to Section 78-177(d)(6) of the Village Zoning Code, the use of the property for the purposes set forth above and in the application, supporting documentation and presentation materials which have been made a part hereof, is prohibited without a special exception. The applicant has applied for a special exception in accordance with the requirements of Sections 78-361 through 78-369 of the Village Zoning Code to allow the proposed special exception use of "indoor amusements" on the property described above in the C- 2Zoning District. 6. The indoor amusement use is proposed to consist of two (2) indoor climate controlled stadiums, 3,000 sq. ft. ~ each, filled with giant inflatable play structures with additional play equipment and an air hockey table in each stadium. Additionally, there will be no more than three (3) video arcade games located in the lobby and two (2) parry rooms with picnic tables to accommodate childrens' party events. 7. Under the provisions of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village Council has the right, power and authority to act upon the request herein made. IT IS THEREUPON CONSIDERED, ORDERED AND ADJUDGED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: The application for Special Exception Case No. SE 08-1, with reference to the above described property within the Village of Tequesta, Palm Beach County, Florida, to permit "indoor amusements" as a special exception use in the C-2 Zoning District to allow the following: two (2) indoor climate controlled stadiums, 3,000 sq. ft. ~ each, filled with giant inflatable play structures with additional play equipment and an air hockey table in each stadium along with no more than three (3) video/arcade games located in the lobby and two (2) party rooms with picnic tables to accommodate childrens' party events is hereby APPROVED since the Village Council hereby finds that the applicant has met the standards set forth in Sections 78-362 and 78-363 of the Tequesta Zoning Code for special exception Page 2 review, subject to the following conditions in accordance with Section 78-364 of the Tequesta Zoning Code. 1. BounceU is all about recreation, entertainment and amusement and is a place for parents and family-based organizations to celebrate important milestones. The video games are there to enhance the overall experience of the occasion. I am opening a franchise of BounceU. I hope to open in the CountyLine Plaza, in a portion of the ex-Winn Dixie space next to the existing Ace Hardware. BounceU is a retail party service business/children's entertainment business/recreational facility. We specialize in children's parties and events. It features interactive games and inflatable play equipment. The facility will consist of two indoor, climate controlled stadiums (+- 3,000 square feet each) filled with giant inflatable play structures, accompanied by additional play equipment and an air hockey table in each stadium. Additionally in a small section of the lobby area there will be an area limited to no more than 4-5 video arcade games. Our staff coordinates, sets up, supervises, facilitates and cleans up so that the hosting parents can relax and enjoy their event. There will be also be two party rooms with picnic type tables where birthday cake and pizza, that was brought in from outside vendors or by the parents, may be served to those attending the party. As requested for the Special Exception Application attached please find a current survey or site plan of the property showing Structures and setbacks, a drawing to scale of my proposed BounceU facility showing the inflatable's, written approval from the property owner and pictures of a BounceU. All BounceU's are standardized, they all look the same. The pictures I have attached show what the public areas of BounceU look like. They include the lobby area, party rooms and bounce stadiums.
