HomeMy WebLinkAboutHandouts_Regular_Tab 15_04/09/2015 (2) I'm Stefan Levine, a Waterway Village resident and former owner of the Tequesta Citgo at the current site of TD bank. I'm also a realtor with Keller Williams in jupiter actively working in the Village. A number of months ago I contacted the mayar regarding the deplorable conditions at the Village Sq Plaza. I ended up worlng with Tom Paterno in an effort to have the various issues addressed. Last week I had a conversation with joe Petrick from Tequesta's Code Enfarcement organization. He confirmed that many of these issues have been in existence for more than five years. He informed me that there is a code enforcement hearing set for later in April where the multiple outstanding violations will be addressed. In the mean time, the south end of the plaza along Cove Road has become a parking and loading free far all. There is no clear delineation between the plaza and the road. There is na clear signage to inform of parking rules (or lack of allowable parking). Pedestrians are forced into the middle of the road as there is no access to the sidewalk beside the building. Motorists are forced to navigate a blind spot due to the random nature of parking and loading vehicles beside the plaza. Can't this issue be addressed without code enforcement hearings? The Village pays Waste Management to empty dumpsters behind the plaza. They aften arrive well before the 6:Q0 am starttime stipulated in the code and in their contract. Dumpsters averflow multiple times throughout the week. Is there nat a company that will comply with your code? This is about more than non-compliance. You, the Village leaders need to acknowledge your responsibility to the greater community and stop ignoring this open sore. Being a part of a successful community or organization includes directly confronting problems and resolving them. The condition of this plaza and various issues surrounding this plaza need to become a priority now. There is no way anything should be resolved regarding the Village Plaza and or their prospective tenants until after the code enforcement hearing in late April. No permits, certificates of occupancy, variances or other documents should be authorized by the Village until plaza management resolves their various code issues and Village management can figure out a regular methfld of inspection and enforcemen f n. E/i N cs i . Phatos of Village Square taken Tuesday 3.31.15 at about 2:3Q p.m. 1.
