NORTHERN AREA MUTUAL AID CONSORTIDK
N A M A C/ POLICE
Purpose: To provide an organized method of providing police
Services and/or Emergency Mutual Aid Service to
member jurisdictions.
Scope: To invite interested providers of Police
and Emergency Services to meet and plan
for the times when the resources of one
jurisdiction cannot control an
emergency/non emergency type situation.
Definitions Mutual Aid Police Assistance given to a
neighboring member jurisdiction nt those times
when police services and/or emergencies escceed th®
resources of one jurisdiction. This can relate to
one large incident or multiple incidents occurring
at one time. This mutual aid is to include, but
not be limited to, emergencies listed under
Florida State Statute 252.34(2).
Coordinating
Council: Member jurisdictions shall appoint one
representative and one alternate
representative to the Coordinating
Council. These representatives shall be
elected officials or management
personnel of the member jurisdiction.
The Coordinating Council shall oversee
and facilitate the operation of this
consortium and from time to time inspect
facilities and equipment to be used in
this plan.
The Coordinating Council shall elect a
Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary.
The Coordinating Council shall meet no
less than three times during the first
twelve months of this agreement, and no
less than once every six months
thereafter, at a time and place
designated by the Chairman. Special
meetings may be called by any member
with majority consent.
Council of
Chiefs: The Chief Law Enforcement Officer of each aeaber
jurisdiction shall sit as a member of the Council
of Chiefs. A member jurisdiction may also appoint
an alternate to the Council of Chiefs. The
Council of Chiefs shall operate NAM~iC/police and
conduct drills/training within the systest as
deemed necessary. Council of Chiefs frill aaintain
and exchange a current inventory of pertinent
equipment and personnel expertise.
The members of the Council of Chiefs shall
elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman and
Secretary. The Council of Chiefs shall asst
no less than two times during each year
at a time and place designated b the
• Chairman. Special meetings of the Council of
Chiefs may be celled by eny member o! the
Council of Chiefs with majority consent.
