Bradford, Village Manager ,W1il~/ FROM: Wendy K. Harrison, Assistant to Village Ma a er 9 DATE: April 18, 1991 SUBJECT: .Status of Water Storage Reservoir Project This is to summarize the current status of the 2 Million Gallon Treated Water Storage Reservoir project. The project was initiated with -the Consultant Selection process during the summer of .1990. In October of 1990, Reese, Macon & Associates was authorized to proceed with programming and schematic design, which included scheduling, preliminary site analysis and preliminary cost projections, and this phase was completed early January, 1991. The work products of the programming phase, notably a preliminary cost estimate in excess of budgeted funds, resulted in site and system analysis efforts prior to proceeding with design. In January and February of this year, we evaluated water system demand, authorized soils testing by Ardaman & Associates and made various financial projections. Due -co multiple factors detailed elsewhere, a decision was made to downsize the tank to 2MG. The consultant proceeded with 30$ and 60$ design in March and anticipates completion of 60$ design early in May. We are about 30 days behind where we had hoped to be at this time,. primarily because we have chosen to address problems as they become apparent, rather than allowing them to collect. Permitting of the tank design is scheduled for mid May to August 1991, with construction commencing as soon as possible after permitting. We expect construction to be accomplished in six to seven months, with the tank in service at substantial completion, which should be after five months of construction. As the attached schedule indicates, the new 2MG Storage Reservoir should be in service by January of 1992. WKH/mk Attachment Recycled Paper N ~ t6 2~ ~ N Y.
