Re: Sixth Annual Chili Cook-Off
Members of Tequesta Fire-Rescue, in conjunction with Friends of Public
Safety, are requesting the Village of Tequesta to be a co-sponsar af
the Sixth Annual Chili Cook-off and beer-tasting event to raise funds
for Southeast Florida Honor Flight, Inc., Operation 300, and Renewal
Coalition. Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created solely
to hanor America's WWII and terminally ill veterans for all their
sacrifices. Operation 300 and Renewal Coalition honors warriors that
have been wounded in the line of duty and sends children of those
killed in action to camp. Twenty-Five percent (25�) of the funds
raised will be donated to each charity. The remaining Twenty-Five
percent {25�) o� the funds raised will be retained by the Friends of
Public Safety, Inc to be utilized in its mission to provide support �o
the Tequesta public safety personnel in time of need and to continue
maintenance of the 9/11 Memorial Fountain.
The event is being planned for November 12, 2016 from 2pm to 6pm at
Paradise Park. We will be bringinq in a s�aqe for live entertainment,
8- ta 10 port-a-potties, tables and chairs for approximately 300
people, 33-1Ox10 folding tents for Chili teams and corporate sponsors
and plan on hiring as many Police Offices as the Police Chief feels is
appropriate for the event.
On the day of the event we request the ability af the on duty crew to
assist with the setup and breakdown of the event. We would like to
utilize the Aerial truck by extending the boom and draping an American
Flag from i� to honor all our fallen heroes. A11 Firefiqhters workinq
the event will be off duty. On duty personnel may be needed to assist
in some of the planning, along with answering questions of the citizens
of Tequesta on event details. None of the above requests will interfere
with the operation of the departments.
