This memorandum briefly reviews legal services furnished by Jones, Foster, Johnston &
Stubbs, P.A. in October 2007.
The following matters were generally addressed during this period:
Arena / Teauesta Litigation.
a. Communications with Village Manager re litigation and negotiations;
b. Prepare for executive session regarding proposed settlement.
2. JMZ v Village of Teauesta.
a. Limifed review of this litigation and preparation relative to scheduled
deposition of Village of Tequesta corporate representative;
b. JMZ set a deposition of a representative of the Village with the most
knowledge concerning the alleged facts at issue. Mayor Humpage is the
Village's representative because _the dispute concerns matters which
arose several years ago. Such deposition is scheduled for October 31,
2oa7.
3. Charter Review. John Randolph participated in multiple meetings relative to the
Charter Review undertaken by the Council. This effort concluded; a summary of
proposed Charter changes was prepared and Mr. Randolph reported in this regard at
the October meeting.
4. Ongoing matters. Various ongoing matters including:
a. Preparation for and attendance at October Village Council meeting and
follow-up review;
b. Review CivicPlus contract with Clerk relative to Village web-site services
and preparation of revised indemnification clause for draft contract;
c. Review variance issue with Catherine Harding and preparation of
associated correspondence relative to Board of Adjustment;
d. Review environmental questions re gas station facility -being converted to
bank;
e. Recordation of Seapoint agreement and limited document revisions
required in this regard;
>> f. Revise release re Waste Management Contract;
g. Research, per Council direction, history of Charter provision on Manager
appointment and preparation of related correspondence;
h. Miscellaneous communications regarding above matters.
