This order consists of the following numbered sections:

PURPOSE:
To establish agency policy on the use of tobacco products in the workplace.
SCOPE:
This order applies to all Police Department members, persons held in custody, and visitors.
DISCUSSION:
In compliance with F.S. 386.204, and the Florida Clean Indoor Act, the Village Manager has
declared all Village of Tequesta indoor areas a smoke and tobacco-free workplace.
POLICY:
The use of tobacco products is prohibited within all buildings and facilities used, occupied, or
maintained by the Tequesta Police Department.
PROCEDURE:
I. DESIGNATED AREAS:
The Police Department is a designated smoke free workplace.
A. Smoke and Tobacco-Free Areas:
The use of all tobacco products will be prohibited within Tequesta
Police Department vehicles and all agency indoor areas. Members are expressly prohibited from using
tobacco products in the immediate area of all main entrances to the police department building.
II. GLOSSARY:
TOBACCO PRODUCTS - Includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, snuff, and generic equivalents.
