Dear Friend of Girl Scouting;
As someone who has supported Girl Scouting, you know the importance of creating girls of
courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Since 1912, when
Juliette Gordon Low gathered 18 girls to start the first troop of American Girl Guides, the Girl

organization for girls in the world and has influenced the more than 50 million girls, women
and men who have come to belong to it.
And the tradition continues in our own community. The Girl Scouts of the Palm Beaches
received its first charter in 1920 and the Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Council continues to
shape the future for today's girls through leadership, values and decision making skills
providing a foundation for success throughout her life, and throughout her community. Last
year we served more than 9,500 girls in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and
Okeechobee Counties.
Because of sponsorship such as yours, local Girl Scouts participated in such projects as
collecting and distributing over 4,400 caats in our One Warm Coat service project and over
26,000 feedings, 36,000 diapers and almost 4,000 items in our Baby Basics service project.
More than 50,000 hours of community service are performed annually by local Girl Scouts.
Girl Scouts helps girls become leaders with a lasting sense of responsibility and accountability
to their communities -local, national, and global
I would like to arrange a time to visit with you so that we can further discuss the impact of
Girl Scouting in our community and opportunities for us to partner over the coming year. I
will follow up with you in the next couple of weeks to schedule a time convenient for you. in
the meantime, please feel free to contact me at 561-427-0174 should you have any questions
of need additional information.
I look forward to speaking with you about the important role Girl Scouting plays in shaping
the future for today's girls. The investment we make in girls today will unleash the
possibilities for girls and yield tremendous returns for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Y,.1
