Home My WebLink AboutDocumentation_Regular_Tab 01_10/13/2016 , �f � � P!� � � .� �, i. r � ��D��.n��.tiD�c Recognizing the Tequesta Business Association WHEREAS, The Village of Tequesta and the Palm Beach North Chamber recognized the need for a local organization that would be dedicated to providing local Tequesta businesses with a platform to help ensure their success; and WHEREAS, in coordination with the Chamber, two business forums were held with the local business community to listen to their needs and concems; and WHEREAS, numerous work group meetings were held with the Village of Tequesta Mayor and staff, Palm Beach North Chamber and local business professionals to brainstorm options to promote local businesses, build economic strength, promote quality business development, and create an environment to drive customers to support Tequesta commerce; and WHEREAS, Matt Mitchell of Venture Insurance took the lead to organize and initially fund the creation of the Tequesta Business Association inclusive of appointing a Board of Directors and local partnerships; and WHEREAS, the charter board members include Matt Mitchell, Chair; Hazel Raigue, Vice- Chair; Chris Rice, Secretary; and Aphrodite Moulis, Treasurer; and WHEREAS, the local partnerships include Mayor Abby Brennan, Village Clerk McWilliams and Mary Ann Grieser representing the Village of Tequesta; Rick Sartory representing the Palm Beach North Chamber, Amy Angelo, owner of Oceana Coffee representing Thu1k Local; and Pete Bonneau representing the Tequesta Rotary; and WHEREAS, on Thursday, September 22, 2016, the Tequesta Business Association was officially launched and presented to the local business community during a business meeting held at the Gallery Grille; and WHEREAS, the mission of the Tequesta Business Association is to promote quality business development through business to business networking and marketing efforts to local residents; to inform members on issues impacting the Village of Tequesta; to take positions on pertinent issues impacting businesses in Tequesta which will allow businesses to have a formal and unified voice making real and sustainable improvements on a local level; build economic strength in Tequesta by educating business owners and residents in the community on a variety of issues; and creating an environment to drive consumers to Tequesta and to support local businesses and entrepreneurs; and WHEREAS, the first official Tequesta Business Association event will be held during Tequesta Fest where local businesses will set up tents and tables to market their services and products to the residents and neighboring visitors; and TEQUESTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION � �.� ,q� nrt< < .. . . _.��• - � ..�,f��_�'�'n�:Y'� "{�"`'',�`�, ��, 5 � „' .
