A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE
, FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017 SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT FUND #605
BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF
$10,000.00 TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) UNIVERSAL �
FLOATING IiOCK USING ASSET FORFEITURE FUNDS;
AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EFFECTUATE THE
PURCHASE ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES; �
WHEREAS, an opportunity has recentl arisen for the Villa e's P� lice De artment to

purchase for $10,000.00 through a private sale, a relatively new Universal Floating Dock valued
at approximately $30,000; and ' �
WHEREAS, Sergeant James Pike, the Village PoTice Department's senior boat operator,
has inspected this dock for its suitability and confirms that it not only a good deal fmaricially but
will serve the Police Departmenf's marine unit well into the future; and �
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has determined and verified that the Village's Law
Enforcement Trust Fund has adequate funds to cover the purchase of this item and that use of the.
Village's Law Enforcement Trust Fund assets to pay for the Universal Floating Dock is
permissible and appropriate pursuant to trust fund asset regulations; and
WHEREAS, the requested - budget amendment is necessary to facilitate the purchase
using funds from the Viliage's Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TI3E VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
� Section 1: The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta hereby adopts this
Resolution and thereby approves tlie requested increase to the Fiscal Year 2016/2017 Special Law
Enforcement Fund Budget by appropriating Fund Balance in the amount of $10,000 to fund the
purchase of one (1) Universal Floating Dock.
Section 2: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and d'irected to effectuate the
purchase on behalf of the Village.
Section 3: Tlus Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
