DALACK 345 TEQUESTA DRIVE TEQUESTA, FL 33469 I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Mayor Humpage at 3:30 p.m. A roll was taken by Village Clerk Lori McWilliams. Present were: Mayor Jim Humpage, Vice Mayor Pat Watkins, Council Member Daniel Amero, Council Member Tom Paterno, and Council Member Calvin Turnquest, Also in attendance were: Village Manager Michael R. Couzzo, Village Attorney Guedes, Village Attorney Hawkins and Village Clerk Lori McWilliams. Mayor Humpage added also in attendance was Shelly Sambulah as recorder. II. Approval of Agenda MOTION: Vice Mayor Watkins moved to approve the agenda as presented; seconded by Council Member Turnquest. Motion unanimously carried S-0. At approximately 3:31 p.m. Mayor Humpage recessed the Special Meeting to a Private Attorney Session to discuss pending litigation concerning a lawsuit pending against the Village by Basil Dalack, in which the Village was presently a party. Those in attendance were: Mayor Humpage, Vice-Mayor Pat Watkins, Council Member Dan Amero, Council Member Tom Paterno, Council Member Calvin Turnquest, Village Attorney Scott Hawkins, Village Manager Michael Couzzo, Jr., Village Attorney Ed Guedes, and the Court Reporter III. Mayor Humpage announced: A. Pursuant to Chapter 286.011 section (8) of the Florida Statutes, the Village Council is commencing an Attorney Client Closed Door Session for the purpose of discussion litigation strategy in the Village of Tequesta vs. Basil Dalack case. B. The estimated length of the session is approximately 30 minutes. C. Those persons attending the session are: Mayor Humpage, Vice-Mayor Pat Watkins, Council Member Dan Amero, Council Member Tom Paterno, Council Member Calvin Turnquest, Village Attorney Scott Hawkins, Village Manager Michael Couzzo, Jr., Village Attorney Ed Guedes, and the Court Reporter Minutes -Attorney Client Session 5/16/07 Page 2 D. Attendees retire to the Attorney Client Session IIII. Reconvene Council Meeting The meeting reconvened at 3:55 pm Attorney Guedes upon departing stated he enjoyed representing Tequesta. Village Clerk McWilliams stated she understood the transcripts were not public knowledge until the case was closed and asked Attorney Hawkins to forward the transcripts to her once that had taken place. V. Discussion on Scheduling Various Council Session Consensus of Council agreed on the following meetings, dates and times agreed on as follows: May 29, 2007 2:OOpm Charter Review Budget EAR June 6, 2007 2:OOpm Agenda Workshop PBA/CWA- closed door session July 7, 2007 2:OOpm Personnel Policies Annexation Pre Agenda Workshop VI. Adjournment MOTION: Vice-Mayor Watkins moved to adjourn the meeting; Council Member Turnquest seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote.
