A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE SPECIAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND #605 2016/2017 BUDGET BY
APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $171,400.00;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta has applied for, and has been awarded, Sixty
Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00) in grant funds from the Florida Inland Navigation District to be
used toward the purchase of a new marine unit vessel for police and fire /rescue purposes; and
WHEREAS, Village police and fire /rescue personnel have determined that a Brunswick
Model 850IM Police/Fire Rescue Boat, along with an associated Boat Trailer and a 2017 Ford
Utility Vehicle for towing purposes will best serve the Village's needs in this regard; and
WHEREAS, total cost for the entire purchase is an amount not to exceed Two Hundred
Thirty One Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars ($231,400.00); and
WHEREAS, after application of the above described grand funds, there remains an
outstanding amount of One Hundred Seventy One Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars ($171,400.00)
needed to complete the purchase; and
WHEREAS, the Village has sufficient funds in its Law Enforcement Trust Fund account
to adequately cover the outstanding amount of One Hundred Seventy One Thousand, Four
Hundred Dollars ($171,400.00) needed to complete the purchase; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has certified that Law Enforcement Trust Fund dollars
can be utilized, pursuant to United States Treasury Department Rules and Regulations, for such
purpose; and
WHEREAS, by a 4-1 vote in favor, at its regular council meeting of February 9, 2017, the
Village Council approved the amendment of its law enforcement trust fund budget by
appropriating and increasing said budget in the amount of One Hundred Seventy One Thousand,
Four Hundred Dollars ($171,400.00) to reflect use of law enforcement trust fund dollars as stated
herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 Resolution No. 14 -17 is hereby approved, increasing the Special Law
Enforcement Trust Fund #605 2016/2017 Budget by appropriating Fund Balance in the amount of
One Hundred Seventy One Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars ($171,400.00) for use, as certified
appropriate pursuant to United States Treasury Department Rules and Regulations by the Chief of
Police, as stated herein.
Section 2 This Resolution memorializes the 4 -1 vote in favor of amending the Village
budget as described herein which occurred at the February 9, 2017 regular village council meeting.
Section 3 This Resolution shall be effective immediately.
