RE: PROPOSED RENOVATION AT
NORTH PL & COUNTRY CLUB DR
Dear Mayor Brennan:
On behalf of the Tequesta Country Club Community Association, Inc. (TCCCA), we wish to
advise you of our plan for renovating the North Entrance to the Tequesta Country Club Community
(TCCC). The TCCC consists of some 579 single - family residences within the Village. The
TCCCA is the not - for - profit community association charged with representing the collective
interests of the TCCC before the Village and in other matters within the scope of our charter.
The North Entrance is situated at the intersection of North Place and Country Club Drive. Over
the years, the North Entrance has become overgrown with invasive and/or noninvasive species of
trees, plants and foliage. This situation has made this semi- public space difficult and costly to
maintain, obstructive, and has diminished its aesthetic value to a degree which runs counter to the
precepts of Chapter 22 of the Village Code.
The TCCCA plans to improve this area by removing these trees, plants and foliage, grinding the
stumps, and re- landscaping with a more esthetically pleasing entrance. A landscape architect has
prepared a design plan and we have secured bids for the work.
We bring this to your particular attention because a recent survey indicates that most if not all of
the real property affected by our plan falls within an easement of the Village. This renovation will
directly enhance the aesthetic value of this property, consistent with the public interest and without
unnecessary hardship to the Village or its residents. This project is not intended to affect utility
boxes, traffic signage, or similar public service devices; and should not require a variance from the
Village Code.
The TCCCA will maintain and provide irrigation at the North Gate, as renovated. We will not
look to the Village for these services.
We ask for your guidance to the extent any governmental approval is required for us to move
forward with any aspect of this project. The landscaping cost is estimated to be $10,350. However,
tree removal is not included in the landscaping cost and is estimated to be several thousand dollars.
We are respectfully requesting assistance from the Village to remove these trees in the Village
right of way. We believe the revised landscaping and tree removal will benefit the community
greatly and enhance motorist safety as well.
