I respectfully present the following memorandum to the Village Manager.
A resolution of the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, increasing the fiscal year
2016/2017 General Fund#001 budget by appropriating Fund Balance in the amount of$39,898.00 to
fund compensated absences in the Police Department.

RESOLUTION NO. 25-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQLIESTA, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017
GENERAL FUND #001 BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING FUND
BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $39,898.00 TO FUND COMPENSATED
ABSENCES IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE MANAGER TO PROCEED ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Village personnel policies and various union agreements,
eligible employees are paid for a portion of their unused leave hours when they separate
from the Village;
WHEREAS, the cost of these "leave hour buy backs" are recorded in the compensated
absences account within each department;
WHEREAS, compensated absences in the police department have exceeded original
expectations;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA,PALM BEACH COUNTY,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 Resolution No. 25-17 is hereby approved increasing the Fiscal Year
2016/2017 General Fund #001 Budget by appropriating Fund Balance in the amount of
$39,898.00 to fund cornpensated absences in the Police Department; authorizing the
Village Manager to proceed on behalf of the Village providing for severability;providing
an effective date; and for other purposes.
Section 2 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
