VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
The Planning and Zoning Board of the Village of Tequesta will conduct a Public Hearing in the Village Hall located at the
Village Council Chambers located at 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida on August 17, 2017 at 5:30 p.m., or as soon
thereafter as possible and continuing from time to time and place to place as necessary to act upon the following
development application(s):
SPM 6-17: Application from 390 Tequesta Drive LLC for a site plan modification to improve landscaping; and
replace windows and doors.The address of the property is 390 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida 33469.
SPM 7-17: Application from Lighthouse Art Center Inc. for a site plan modification to remove one (1) awning;
paint building with existing colors; install new wall sign; and two (2) metal sculptures on front of the building.
The application also includes modifying the front elevation by replacing wall lights, painting street numbers
and installing ceramic tiles over existing brick columns. The address of the property is 373 Tequesta Drive,
Tequesta, Florida 33469.
SPM 8-17: Application from GMH Tequesta Holdings LLC for a site plan modification to install a permanent
480 sq.ft.freestanding awning on east side of property over existing pavers.The address of the property is 701
Old Dixie Highway,Tequesta, Florida 33469.
Immediately following the Planning and Zoning Board Public Hearing, the Planning and Zoning Board sitting as the Locai
Planning Agency of the Village of Tequesta will conduct a Public Hearing in the Village Council Chambers located at 345
Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida 33469, continuing from time to time and place to place as necessary to consider and
make recommendations to the Village Council regarding the following proposed ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 16-17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE
VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES AT CHAPTER 78. ZONING; AT SECTION 78-4, DEFINITIONS. TO CREATE
DEFINITIONS FOR THE TERMS "MARIIUANA," "MEDICAL MARIIUANA TREATMENT CENTER;' "MEDICAL
MARUUANA TREATMENT CENTER DISPENSING FACILITY" AND TO REVISE THE DEFINITION FOR "RETAIL
SALES AND SERVICE" TO EXCLUDE MEDICAL MARUUANA TREATMENT CENTER AND MEDICAL
MARUUANA TREATMENT CENTER DISPENSING FACILITY THEREFROM;AT SECTION 78-178,C-3 GENERAL
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT,SUBSECTION (B) PERMITTED USES,TO CREATE AN ENTIRELY NEW NUMBER(20)
PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR THE LOCATION OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA TREATMENT CENTERS IN THE
VILLAGE;AND AT ARTICLE IX,SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS TO CREATE AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION 78-
307 BANNING MEDICAL MARIJUANA TREATMENT CENTER DISPENSING FACILITIES WITHIN THE VILLAGE;
PROVIDING THAT EACH AND EVERY OTHER SECTION AND SUBSECTION OF CHAPTER 78. SHALL REMAIN
IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
Related documents are available for inspection and copying in the office of the Village Clerk at the Village Hall, Monday
through Friday during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Public Hearings may be continued from time to
time, as necessary. All interested persons are encouraged to come to the Public Hearings and be heard.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Planning and Zoning Board with respect to any matter considered at
such meetings or hearings, he or she will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record
should include the testimony and evidence from which the appeal is to be based. The Village of Tequesta does not provide
such a record.
