Brightly colored flowers provide a pleasant upscale, visually uplifting cheerfulness for everyone. • Planters with controlled irrigation will help foliage flourish and provide a conspicuous statement of beauty, from the base... right on throughout the entire structure. • Provisions can be made to effectively supply controlled irrigation that provide consistent beauty. Council Discussion: Holiday Lighting • Provide subtle uplifting ambiance of festive holiday lighting for passersby to enjoy with pride. You Never KnewYou Needed� �. Research how much interest can be gathered, as well as support pledged, for dog adoption event. 2. Create a working list of adoption and rescue organizations seeking an outlet event for a major adoption initiative. 3. Make positive image phone contact with potential participants, followed up with of�icial emails confirming interest and willingness to attend a preliminary meeting for planning purposes. 4. Establish a date � time for a planning meeting to be held at Village. s_ Meet with potential participants; dog adoption organizations and vendor supporters for preliminary discussion and guidance, well in advance of'the event target date; late March / early April. 6. Establish when in very late November or early December is the best date for event? How much participation can be expected f'rom each organization? Be sensitive to date/time conflicts, especially with major participants. Obviously, the larger the number of available adoptable dogs, the greater the opportunity of a successfLl event. Establish vendor fee schedule compatible with other Village events. 8. Coordinate event-marketing initiatives with participants. 9. Create an event logo for print and apparel. �o. Create media packets for promotional release. »_ Initiate development of collateral premiums and sponsors: (microchip implants by veterinarians, celebrity dog wash,Vet Tec nail clipping,Tequesta personalized dog ID tags, discount coupons � gif�s, etc. �2_ FREE home pet-alert decals for Frst-Responders / Fire-Rescue � Police. 13'March 2017 Something very close to the heartbeat of America... for Council to consider: Regional DOG ADOPTION Event Northern Palm Beach & Southern Martin Counties Venue: Paradise or Tequesta Park TIICHE: Creating a high-profile benevolent Pet Rescue event would primarily focus on dog adoption and include a wide array of vendors that provide pet services to the surrounding areas. Tequesta would become a benevolent hub of support with scalable participation tailored to our ability. Ideally, the event would include area Veterinarians and animal clinics, pet food & supply facilities, pet groomers, dog trainers and any other appropriate service providers. The mission is to develop a service to assist in responsibly matching rescue or shelter dogs with quality owners. Depending on the available space, the event might host related service or product providers. On-site food trucks and ice cream vendors are also worth considering. As potential attendance INCENTIVES, seek sponsors for: • "ASK THE DOCTOR" Expert Vet panel. • FREE or greatly reduced fee for pet microchip implant by veterinarians. • FREE or greatly reduced fee for dog washing & nail clipping • Express dog grooming. Maybe a mobile groomer with bath-on-wheels! • FREE Tequesta personalized dog ID tags. • FREE doggie-doo collection bags. • Dog product discounts coupons. • Pet craft vendors. • FREE Home Pet Alert Decal for fire-rescue responders. As well, it might also include a "DOG SHOW" of sorts, if we have qualified & talented officials willing to donate their time and expertise. Recruit area celebrities. A collateral goal of this niche initiative: To further enhance the Village's image by improved focus on Village assets (features, benefits and advantages). This initiative may very well garner significant media relations. And positioning the event to coincide with the coming Holiday Season conveniently embraces the emotional spirit of everyone. Subaru, the car company, has a powerful advertising campaign that embraces the national caring of rescue shelter dogs and has become a major sponsor for dog- rescue awareness initiatives nationwide and local Subaru dealers may be inclined to partner with this regional adoption events. Same is true of various national pet food & supplies vendors. Contacting the corporate relations department and offering to partner with them in developing a joint Tequesta event is a sensible consideration. As well, we may also recruit Village volunteer Ambassadors to contact ALL the pet rescue organizations and inquire about their participation. Bottom-Line: Advocating the adoption of rescue shelter dogs and demonstrating a warm level of animal caring will perpetuate widespread positive feelings about the overall perception of good community values and benevolence associated with the Village of Tequesta. Animal lovers in general, and dog lovers specifically, have grown into a multi-billion dollar industry's active support for dog rescue advancement. Partnering even in a very small but conspicuous way positions Tequesta on the absolute best side of this overall initiative. The cost of involvement is extremely low... and the potential benefits derived can be exceptionally great.
