As per Village Code Sec. 26-5 (b). — Declararion of a state of emergency, "r�n5- declaration of a local
state of eineigenc5� and all emergenc� regulations acti�-ated under the pro�-isions of diis article shall be
confumed bS t�ie �Tillage council b�- proclamation no later than its next regularl�� scheduled ineeting,
unless the nature of the emergenc�- renders a meeting of the trillage council impractical." The attached
Resolution confirms this declaration as required b�� the �'illage's Code of Ordinances.

TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, CONFIRNIING BY PROCLAMATION THE
STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION ISSUED ON SEPTEMBER 5,
2Q17 FOR THE VII.LAGE OF TEQUESTA DUE TO HURRICANE iRMA,
ALL EMERGENCY REGULATIONS ACTIVATED UNDER THE
PROViSIONS OF CHAPTER 2b OF THE VILLAGE C�DE OF
ORDINANCES, AND THE DESIGNATION OF THE FIRE CI�EF AS
THE EMERGENC'� MANAGElVI�l�iT DIltECTOR FOR THE VII,LAGE
FOR SO LONG AS T�iE LOCAL STATE OF EMERGE1�iCY CQNfiINUES
IlY EFFECT, PROVIDING FOR SE��RABIIITY; PROVIDING AN
EFFECT�E DAT�;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Hurricane Irma. is a major hurricaae traveling west narthwest through the
central part of the Caribbean Sea;and
WH�R�AS,Hurrica�e Trma is traveling daugerously close to the southeastern region of
Tequesta,Sou#h Florida a�id the southeastern coast of Fiorida;and
WHEREAS, Hurricane Irma may groduce excessive rainfall, damaging winds and
destructive stQrm surge, �a.using flooding, fallen lrees and pow�r lines�ecessitating the closure
of the Village of Tequesta.and evacuation of residents east of Counfiry Club Drive,and
WAEREAS, the assistance of the local gover�nent is necessary in order to protect the
public health,preserve ths safety of the public,keep property damage to a minimum and restore
the sc�cial aad economic vveifare flf aur�7'illage a�d i#s residents and visitors;and
NQW, 1'HEREFOi�E, BE IT RESOLYED BY THE VII.I�AGE CaUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA,PALM BEACH COUNTY,FLORIDA,AS FaLLOWS:
Section 1 �1s designat�i by Section 26-5 of the Village Cad� of Ordinances, the
Ma.yor�Ma.yor Abby Brennan)aud Emergenc�Management Director(Fire Chief Medina)issued
a S#ate of Emergency De�claratic�n an Tuesda�, September 5, 2017 far #he �illage due to
Hurrieane Irma.
Section 2 Section 2b-3 of the Village Code of Ordinances designates the Fire Cluef
as ths E�ergencY Management Direc#or iri order to accomplish all coordination, direction and
implementation of a11 disaster manag�me�t fiinctions.
Section 3 Pursuant to Section 2G-5 of the �illage Code of(hdinances, the Village
Councit af the Yillage of Tequesta hereby confirms by Proclamation the State of Fmergency
Deciaraiion issued on September 5, 2017 for#he Village of Tequesta due to Hurricane Irma, all
emergency regula#ions activa#ed under the provisians of Chapter 26 af the V'�ilage Code of
Ordinances, and the designation of the Fire Chief as the Emergency Management Director for
the Village for so long as the local state af emergency continnes in effect.
Section 4 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
