VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA
PLANNING AND ZONING August 17, 2017
BOARD MEETING q
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by Board Chair Janet Strand. Community
Development Planner, Lance Lilly, took a roll call. Present were: Board Chair Janet Strand,
Board Member Elizabeth Schauer, Board Member Michael Schmidt, Board Member Ashley
Warren, Alternate Member Leslee Dasher and Alternate Member Theresa Maggio. Also
present were Village Attorney Amity Barnard and Community Development Director Nilsa
Zacarias. Vice Chair Steve Eagen was tardy.
APPROVALOFAGENDA
MOTION: Board Member Elizabeth Schauer moved approval of the agenda; seconded by
Alternate Member Leslee Dasher; motion carried unanimously 5-0.
1. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
MOT/ON: Board Member Elizabeth Schauer moved approval of the minutes; seconded by
Alternate Member Leslee Dasher; motion carried unanimously 5-0.
2. SPM 06-17
Application from 390 Tequesta Drive LLC for a site plan modification to improve
landscaping; and replace windows and doors. The address of the property is 390
Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida 33469.
Village Attorney Amity Barnard announced the quasi-judicial nature of the item and swore in
two people. The Board Members disclosed no ex-parte communication. SPM 06-17 was
opened to the Board for questions and comments. There was none. SPM 06-17 was opened
to the public for comments but there were none.
MOTION: Board Member Elizabeth Schauer moved to recommend approval of SPM 06-17;
seconded by Alternate Member Leslee Dasher; motion carried unanimously 5-0.
3. SPM 07-17
Application from Lighthouse Art Center Inc. for a site plan modification to remove
one (1) awning; paint building with existing colors; install new wall sign; and two (2)
metal sculptures on front of the building. The application also includes modifying
the front elevation by replacing wall lights, painting street numbers and installing
ceramic tiles over existing brick columns. The address of the property is 373
Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida 33469.

Village Attorney Amity Barnard announced the quasi-judicial nature of the item and swore in
one person. The Board Members disclosed no ex-parte communication. There were no
comments from the Board or the public.
MOTION: Board Member Elizabeth Schauer moved to recommend approval of SPM 07-17;
seconded by First Alternate Leslee Dasher; motion carried 4-1 with Ashley Warren opposed,
as she preferred brick.
4. SPM 08-17
Application from GMH Tequesta Holdings LLC for a site plan modification to install
a permanent 480 sq. ft. freestanding awning on east side of property over existing
pavers. The address of the property is 701 Old Dixie Highway, Tequesta, Florida
33469.
Village Attorney Barnard swore in several people. Board Member Elizabeth Schauer advised
of ex-parte communication with the landscape architecture concerning landscape work. SPM
08-17 was opened for Board and public comments but there were none.
MOTION: Board Member Elizabeth Schauer moved approval of SPM 08-17; seconded by
Board Member Ashley Warren; motion carried unanimously 5-0.

BOARD COMMENTS
There was none.
ADJOURNMENT: Alternate Board Member Leslee Dasher moved adjournment; seconded by
Board Member Ashley Warren; the motion to adjourn carried unanimously 5-0; therefore, the
meeting was adjourned at 5:44 P.M.
