AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA,FLORIDA,AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE VILLAGE
OF TEQUESTA AT SECTION 1.01 INCORPORATION. BY RE-
LOCATING THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF
THE VILLAGE FROM APPENDIX A TO THIS SECTION; AND BY
REDEFINING THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF
THE VILLAGE SUBSEQUENT TO THE ANNEXATION OF 0.579 f
ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED ON US
HIGHWAY 1 WHICH PROPERTY IS MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED IN ANNEXATION ORDINANCE NO. 17-17; WHICH REAL
PROPERTY WAS ANNEXED INTO THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA BY
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL PURSUANT TO A PETITION FOR
VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,AND AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the �llage Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida has adopted
Ordinance No. 17-17 annexing a total of 0.579 t acres of real property, more or less, located on
US Highway 1, including the easterly right of way, into the Village of Tequesta, and has redefined
the boundaries of the Village of Tequesta thereby; and
WHEREAS, in order that the Charter of the Village of Tequesta correctly reflects the
�llage's territorial boundaries, it is necessary to amend the Village Charter to redefine same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 1.01. — Incorporation. of the Village of Tequesta Charter is hereby
amended by re-locating the territorial limits legal description of the Village from Appendix A to
this section; and by redefining the tenitorial limits legal description of the Village subsequent to
the annexation of 0.579 t acres, more or less, of real property located on U.S. Highway 1 which
property is more particularly described in Annexation Ordinance No. 17-17;providing that Section
1.01 of the Village Charter shall hereafter read as follows:
Section 1.01. - Incorporation.
The municipality hereby established shall be known as the Village of Tequesta, Florida. The
territorial limits of said municipality are defined as set forth below: ' .

Section 2: Each and every other provision and section of the Charter of the �llage of
Tequesta shall remain in full force and effect as previously enacted.
Section 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict be and the same are hereby
repealed.
Section 4: Should any Section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof, any
paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part thereof other
than the part to be declared invalid.
Section 5: Specific authority is hereby given to codify this Ordinance.
Section 6: The Village Manager is hereby directed to provide a copy of this ordinance to
the Florida Department of State and the Office of Economic and Demographic Research, as well
as to Palm Beach County, immediately upon adoption.
Section 7: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon second reading and final
passage.
