Please be mindful of its content — Good morning Doug, We contacted A & E regarding the foundation evaluation. From A & E: Oftentimes it is industry accepted practice that if the tower itself has capacity, the foundation is also sufficient to bear the load; since the foundation is designed to carry the load of the tower and all proposed equipment. This tower is currently showing 44.2% in the tower and 58% in the anchor bolts, and industry limit would be up to 105%. Also this is a flagpole, meaning that the changing of the equipment has little impact on the overall capacity of the tower since all the wind loading is derived from the tower and the concealment canisters. Please let us know if you have comments or questions. Note:This analysis has not considered the spline within the stealth canisters which begin at a height of 99 ft. Information on the spline(shape and yield strength)were not provided at the time of this analysis and therefore was not evaluated. However,as this spline was originally designed to resist the full wind load of the canisters above, there will be no increase in stress beyond the original design. As such, the spline is considered as structurally sufficient for supporting the proposed installation. Assumptions The below assumptions are true, complete and accurate. The existing tower has been maintained to manufacturer's specifications and is in good condition. All member connections are considered to have been designed to meet the load carrying capacity of the connected member. Antenna mount loads have been estimated based on generally accepted industry standards. The mounts for the proposed antennas have been analyzed and designed by others. Sec additional assumptions contained in the report attached. Tower is within acceptable engineering tolerance at 105%. Foundations are within acceptable engineering tolerance at 110%. Conclusions The existing tower described above has sufficient capacity to support the proposed loading based on the governing Building Code. The foundation is assumed to be acceptable based on the tower capacity.
