~ject: Florida Statute §218.74
Pursuant to the Board's direction at yeste.rday's meeting, I researched
the Florida Statutes regarding the time period for the payment of
invoices. I have attached a copy of Florida Statutes 218.79 which
provides for the payment of invoices within 45 days of the due date.
The due date is determined by reference to Florida Statutes 218.73
for nonconstruction services ( 218.735 for construction services). The
due date is:
The date on which a proper invoice is received by the chief disbursement
officer of the local governmental entity after approval by the governing
body, if required; or
(?_) If a proper invoice is not received by the local governmental entity,
the date:
(a) On which delivery of personal property is accepted by the local
governmental entity;
(b) On which services are completed;
(c) On which the rental period begins; or.
(d) On which the local governmental entity and vendor agree in a contract
that provides dates
relative to payment periods;
~chever date is latest.
