To the contrary, the Village of Tequesta does object to any abandonment of any portion of the subject alley. The alley continues to serve a publ.ic purpose and as such is inappropriate for abandonment. In addition to the comments provided toou from the Loxahatchee River District on April 19, 2017 under the signature of its Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Yerkes, the alley is located within the Village of Tequesta's water service area and is a beneficiai utility corridor for future water lines. With the recently approved U.S. Highway #1 improvements that will result in lane reductions and other improvements to the corridor, the alley will be an important alternative to future disruptions of that corridor. Moreover, the abandonment of one small portion of the alleyway for your private use when the rest of the alleyway remains intact makes no sense from a public purpose standpoint. Either the alleyway in its entirety remains beneficial for public purposes, or it does not. Carving out ene half of the alley that is immediately adjacent to your property is not appropriate. For all these reasons, the Village of Tequesta wilf oppose any attempt to abandon any portion of the Jupiter Heights Plat alley.
