CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CAL�
Tlie Village af Tequesta Planning & Zoning Board sitting as the Lacal Planning Agency held a
regularly scheduled meeting at the Tequesta Village Hall, 345 Tequesta C?rive, Tequesta,
Florida, on Thurscfay, May 17, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 5:46 p.m. Lance Lilly,
Community Development Planner; who noted the following were present, taak a roil call: Board
Chair Janet Strand, Board Member Elizabeth Schauer, Baard Member Michael Schmidt, Board
Member Ashley Warren and Alternafie Member Theresa Maggio. Also present were Village
Attorney Amity Barnard and Community Development Director Nilsa Zacarias. Vice Chair
Steven Eagen and Boa�d Member�eslee Dasher were absent.
Also present were Village Attorney Amity Baenard, and Director of Community Development
Nilsa Zacarias.

MEETING MINUTES
May 17, 2018
Drew D'Alessandro and Deja Gilbert presented a PowerPoint presentation explaining the
current conditions for Futures of the Palm Beaches. Mr. D'Alessandro explains during his
presentation that Futures wishes to change the type of insurances they allow to accept more
insurance carriers. Elizabeth Schauer questions how the code text amendment would change
the clientele for expending the types of insurance. Ms. Gilbert explains that clients currently use
PPO policies; the proposal would allow clients to use !n-Network benefits rather than Out-of-
Network.
Mrs. Schauer states how Futures continues to change what it was originally proposed when
entering the Village. Ms. Gilbert explains the proposed ordinance is necessary due to the
change in the Health Care industry. Theresa Maggio asks if Futures wiii be a participating
provider and if so, as a participating provider Futures must allow patients that qualify.
MOTION
Board Member Schauer made a recommendation of denial for Ordinance No. 10-18; seconded
by Board Member Maggio. Motion carried by unanimous 5-0 vote.
BOARD COMMENT
None.
STAFF COMMENT
Community Development Director Zacarias wanted to thank the Local Planning Agency for their
work on the Comprehensive Plan. She mentions that fihe Comprehensive Plan was adopted by
the Vi�lage Council and will be transmitted to the State.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no furfher business to come before the Board, upon motion by Board Member
Schauer seconded by Board Member Schmidt and carried by unanimous 5-0 vote, the meeting
was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.

PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
The Planning and Zoning Board of the Village of Tequesta will conduct a Public Hearing in the Village Hall located
at the Village Council Chambers located at 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida on July 19, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.,
or as soon thereafter as possible and continuing from time to time and place to place as necessary to act upon
the following development application(s):
SPM 9-18: Application from Brian W. Hartwiger to modify canopy wall and trim colors from existing
Apex Texaco colors to Chevron colors per Sec. 22-53 (b). The application also includes wall signs to the
canopy and the installation of a monument sign. The address of the property is 250 S. U.S. Hwy 1,
Tequesta, Florida, 33469.
Immediately following the Planning and Zoning Board Public Hearing, the Planning and Zoning Board, sitting as
the Local Planning Agency of the Village of Tequesta, will conduct a Public Hearing in the Village Council
Chambers located at 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida 33469, continuing from time to time and place to
place as necessary to act upon the following:

Hearings and be heard.
