(Community Commercial District) 2. Staff Analysis The subject site was currently an Apex Texaco fuel station and is intending on change to a Chevron gasoline station. The applicant is requesting approval to modify the existing Apex Texaco canopy to Chevron colors. The applicant is proposing to paint the canopy Blue PMS 2935 and columns Chevron Light Gray. The application also includes the installation of wall signs to the canopy and a new monument sign. The proposed wall signs comply with the Village Code per Section 78-740 (c) (5). "In commercial districts C-1, C-2, and C-3, as well as the commercial portions of mixed use districts cornerstructures of buildings with direct exposures to two or more public streets or to a shopping center and a street shall be allowed a sign on each side of the bui/ding exposed to a street or shopping center." The monument sign complies with the Village Code per Section 78-741 (e) (ii). "Establishments not in a shopping center, located within the C-2 community commercial district or the C-3 general commercial district, shall be allowed one sign per building apart from the building not to exceed 60 square feet in area and not exceeding 20 feet in height from finished grade and having a minimum setback of ten feet in accordance with section 78-739." The applicant provided elevations and other documentation,which highlight the proposed modification(s), please see attached application.
