2. Staff Analysis
The subject site was currently an Apex Texaco fuel station and is intending on change to a Chevron
gasoline station.
The applicant is requesting approval to modify the existing Apex Texaco canopy to Chevron colors.
The applicant is proposing to paint the canopy Blue PMS 2935 and columns Chevron Light Gray.
The application also includes the installation of wall signs to the canopy and a new monument sign.
The proposed wall signs comply with the Village Code per Section 78-740 (c) (5). "In commercial
districts C-1, C-2, and C-3, as well as the commercial portions of mixed use districts cornerstructures
of buildings with direct exposures to two or more public streets or to a shopping center and a street
shall be allowed a sign on each side of the bui/ding exposed to a street or shopping center."
The monument sign complies with the Village Code per Section 78-741 (e) (ii).
"Establishments not in a shopping center, located within the C-2 community commercial district or the
C-3 general commercial district, shall be allowed one sign per building apart from the building not to
exceed 60 square feet in area and not exceeding 20 feet in height from finished grade and having a
minimum setback of ten feet in accordance with section 78-739."
The applicant provided elevations and other documentation,which highlight the proposed
modification(s), please see attached application.
FINAL REMARKS
This development application met the requirements set on Section 78-334 notice of hearing.The notice
of hearing was advertised on luly 9, 2018.

(1) Review by the P/anning and Zoning eoard. The Community Development Director or designee shall submit
such application for Planning and Zoning Board review within 45 days of receipt of a completed application.
Fee: A)$300.00 (final approvalj OR B)$500.00(recommendation to Village Council)
(2) Review by �llage Council. Within 45 days of review by the Planning and Zoning Board, the Community
Development Director or designee shall then submit such application, including the recommendations of the
Planning and Zoning Board,for Village Council review.

To cover all additional administrative costs, actual or anticipated, including, but not limited to, engineering fees,
