Florida's unemployment rate on the rise

Innovation said Friday.
The rate means more than a half million workers statewide are out of work.The state also revised the April jobless rate upward from 4.9 percent to 5 percent. For the year, the jobless
rate is up 1.6 percentage points.Florida's jobless rate, which has been below the national level, now matches the national rate. Palm Beach and Broward counties' jobless numbers also
are up. Palm Beach County's unemployment rate rose to 5.4 percent in May, compared with 4.8 percent a month ago and 3.7 percent a year ago. Broward's rate increased to 4.8 percent, compared
with 4.2 percent a month ago and 3.2 percent a year ago.Miami-Dade County's unemployment rate stayed the same from a month ago at 4.7 percent, but was up from 3.4 percent a year ago.Foreclosure
