NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The proposed millage rate of 5.7671 mils per $1,000.00 of assessed value, necessary to fund the tentative budgets for the Fiscal Year of 2007/2008 is hereby set. SECTION 2: The proposed millage rate of 5.7671 mils per $1,000 of assessed value for the Fiscal Year of 2007/2008 is 9.0% less than the rolled-back millage rate of 6.3375 mils per $1,000.00 of assessed value. He explained that the drop-dead date was July 30, 2007, however it took the PBC Property Appraiser's office 5 days to run the report that must be reported for TRIM and that report is due to the DOR by August 6cn Also, as we discussed, I spoke with David Beggs of the Florida State Department of Revenue regarding the Taxable Value that the State used to compute compound annual growth rate in per capital taxes levied (this is used to determine the "Maximum Millage rate" the Village can levy with a Majority vote of the Council"). David said that the D.O.R reviewed ~1 the Mayor's letter contesting the amount used in the calculation and determined last Thursday, July 12, 2007, that the ~/ using the Village/Palm Beach County's number did not change the compound annual growth rate enough to effect the "Maximum Millage rate" calculation. We did not have this information in time to include it on the agenda of last Thursday's meeting. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
