Subject Adoption of Stormwater Utility Non Ad Valorem
Assessment Rates for FY 99/00, Agenda Item
Staff recommends that the ERU rate stay constant, no
increase, for FY 2000 based upon the proposed budget, to
date. At their meeting on May 27, 1999, the Stormwater
Utility Board adopted this same recommendation for
Village Council consideration. We are able to hold our
rate constant for next year due to the merger of the
Stormwater Utility with the Water Department to form
the Utilities Department which reduced the headcount by
one person resulting in a budgetary savings to stormwater
operations.
The current and proposed ERU rates are as follows:
• Small Single Family Residence:
> I s.f. and < = 2506 s.f. = 1 ERU x .65 x 12 mo. _
$48.36, plus I % Tax Collector's fee and 3.5 % for early
payment = $ 50.54 annually.
• Medium Single Family Residence:
> =2507 sq. ft and < = 4621 s.f. = I ERU x 12 mo. _
$74.40 ,plus I % Tax Collector's fee and 3.5% for early
payment = $ 77.75 annually.

The recommended rates are presented to the Village
Council at their meeting in June of each year in order to
adopt the tentative rate for non-ad valorem assessments
pursuant to the schedule for such promulgated by the
Property Appraiser's office and/or Florida Statutes.

RESOLUTION NO. 39-98/99
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
THE PROPOSED STORMWATER UTILITY FY 2000 NON-AD
VALOREM EQUIVALENT RESIDENTIAL UNIT ASSESSMENT
RATES FOR FY 2000 APPLICABLE TO THE PROPERTIES
WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA
AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSMITTAL OF THE SAME TO THE
PROPERTY APPRAISER AND/OR TAX COLLECTOR OF PALM
BEACH COUNTY FOR NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENT
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Village Council to adopt
non-ad valorem assessments for all properties within the
jurisdiction of the Village of Tequesta for FY 2000 in order
to provide the revenues necessary to operate Tequesta's
Stormwater Utility as authorized by Florida Statues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Proposed Equivalent Residential Unit Non-
Ad Valorem Assessment Rates are hereby Adopted
for FY 2000 as follows:
• Small Single Family Residence:
> 1 s. f. and <= 2506 sq. ft.= 1 ERU x
.65 x 12 mo. _ $48.36 plus 1% Tax
Collector fee and 3.5% for early payment
_ $50.54 annually.
• Medium Single Family Residence:
>= 2507 s.f. and <= 4621 s.f. = 1 ERU x
12 mo. _ $74.40 plus 1% Tax Collector fee
and 3.5% for early payment = $77.75
annually.
• Large Single Family Residence:
>= 4622 s.f. = 1 ERU x 1.30 x 12 mo. _
$96.72 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3.50
for early payment = $101.07 annually.
Condominium Developments:
1 ERU x .67 x 12 mo. _ $49.80 plus 1% Tax
Collector fee and 3.5% for early payment
_ $52.04 per unit annually.

Stormwater Utility Non-Ad Valorem Assessment
Rates for FY 2000 to the Palm Beach County
Property Appraiser and/or Palm Beach County
Tax Collector for Assessment Purposes.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember
who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded
by Councilmember and upon being put to a vote, the
vote was as follows:
FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION
The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and
adopted this 10th day of June, A.D., 1999.
