DECLARING AUGUST 23, 2008 AS
"LOXAHATCHEE RIVER ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER
DAY"
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta recognizes the Loxahatchee River as
a beautiful natural resource that provides value to our community; and
WHEREAS, the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District is
committed to preserving and protecting the Loxahatchee River and its natural
habitats for future generations by designing innovative wastewater solutions,
furthering river research efforts and fostering environmental stewardship; and
WHEREAS, the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District has
created the Loxahatchee River Environmental Center, known as the "River
Center", in order to provide substantial benefit to the residents of and visitors to
our community by virtue of environmental education and experiences to promote
appreciation and stewardship of the Loxahatchee River; and
WHEREAS, preserving and protecting the Loxahatchee River for future
generations is a noble goal for all of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the River Center shall host its grand opening on Saturday,
August 23, 2008; and
WHEREAS, to celebrate this event the Village of Tequesta deems that a
proclamation be offered in support.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ,Mayor of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, do
hereby extend greetings and best wishes to all observing the August 23, 2008 as:
LOXAHATCHEE RIVER ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER DAY
