Honourable Mayor or City Manager,
As representative bf the Palm Beach County Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp # 15991 am
once again n~uesting a Confederate History Month Prodamation from your municipality. I have thus
far received from two of the largest cdties, Boca Raton & West Palm Beach. I have enclosed cx~pies
for your review
In keeping with the intent o€ the late Governor Lawton Chiles..." 1Nhereas, we study the War
between the sates for the carne reason we study all wars, with a view to understand the Historical
events which compelled them, so we may continue to team together and seek to avoid future
conflicts,..." 1 would ask that your municipality, join the others, in the inten3st of Florida history,
education ~ heritage to do the same, if it has not aln3ady done so.
1 submitted cornespondence to your attention several weeks ago r+egar~cting this matter & as yet have -
not received a reply. I'm sure that you receive proclamation n3quests from many organisations and .
are at times overwhelmed with special requests & the normal duties of managing a c~iy. I would
appreciate the courtesy of a n31y as to our request at your earliest convenience.
I take this #ime to thank you for your help and hope this project can continue to be an annual event
