MINUTES OF A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
APRIL 25, 1985
A Special Council Meeting was held by the Village Council of the
Village of Tequesta, Florida at S:OO P.M., April 25, 1985 in the Village
Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida.
Councilmembers present were: Gemino, Howell, Mapes, Murphy and
Stoddard.
Also present were Robert Harp, Village Manager and Cyrese Colbert,
Village Clerk.
This Special Council Meeting was called to discuss the problem of
excessive noise levels at the new Well 7R.
Mr. Bill Reese, P.E., Gee ~ Jenson was present and presented Council
with two (2) drawings, one a concrete block barrier wall and the other a
concrete block pump house.
Mr. Reese told Council that Gee ~ Jenson have looked at other alter-
native to this well. One suggestion would be to go with a submergeable pump
which they would not recommend because it would be a maintenance night mare.
Another .suggestion would be a smaller submergeable pump with less
yield but it would not pump enough.
If the Village were to drill another well at another location, the
cost would be something in the range of $35,000 to $40,000. They would not
recommend this either because there is no guarantee of the water at a new
well.
Mike Davila, Gee ~ Jenson talked with Council about the noise level
sound reading.
With Scheme 1, which was the concrete block barrier wall, the reading
would be 50 dba's, with Scheme 2, which is the concrete block pump house, the
reading would be 40 dba's.
Mapes moved, "that the Village Manager be authorized to follow
Scheme 2 and spend up to $12,000 without coming back to the Village Council".
Murphy seconded and vote on the motion was:
Gemino - for
Howell - for
Mapes - for
Murphy - for
• Stoddard - for
and therefore the motion was passed and adopted.
