SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE
OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
SEPTEMBER 17, 1984
A Special Council Meeting was held by the Village Council
of the Village of Tequesta at 9:52 P.M., immediately following
the Public Hearing, inthe Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive,
Tequesta, Florida. on September 17, 1984.
Councilmembers present were: Brown, Mapes, Murphy,
Stoddard and Wagar.
Also present were: Robert Harp, Village Manager,
Cyrese Colbert,Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village
Attorney.
Mayor Stoddard told Council that he would like to
resensi the Resolution to the County opposing the acquisition
of the 18 acres of land for a Park. He was advised by the
Village Attorney that the Resolution had not been adopted
by Council. Mayor Stoddard asked the people in the audience
if Council could have more time on this and was reminded by
members of the audience that this matter was coming before
• the County Commissioners tomorrow and an answer from Tequesta
was needed before then.
Mayor Stoddard said that several people in the audience
had suggested the 3 acres north of Coral Cove Park be substi-
tuted for the 18 acres parcel. The Village Attorney advised
that this Public Hearing was being held on the 18 acres parcel
and not on the other alternatives.
Mayor Stoddard asked for input from Councilmembers.
Brown said he felt that this meeting was advertised on the
18 acres of land and that Council should go ahead and vote
if it approves or disapproves of the County acquiring this
park land.
The Village Attorney read aloud the advertisement that
was in the paper and told Council that in his opinion, Council
had three (3) choices.
1. To support the County in their effort to purchase
the 18 acres;
2. Not to support the County; and
3. Was not to do anything.
• Murphy said he was in favor of no action.
